Simpson College Jazz Festival

Registration fee is $180 per band. This is a change in price to cover the cost of adding a clinician judge and adding Competition Suite to the registration/feedback process. Bands will have a 20-minute performance slot, followed by a 20-minute clinic with a clinician judge. This is an increase to the clinic time from previous years. Clinics this year will be held in a different location within our music building but will still remain open to all bands/attendees.

Directors will need to register for a Competition Suite account (this is free) in order to receive the performance judge's audio comments. Competition Suite is accessible on both a web browser and on a smartphone app.

Deadline to register is 5:00pm on December 6, 2024. Late registrations will be accepted until 5:00pm on December 20, 2024 with an added $50 late registration fee. Performance schedules will be sent out January 6, 2025. We ask that registration fees be paid or received in advance or at check-in, the day of your performance. We are able to provide a drum set, bass amp, guitar amp, piano, vibes, and congas for warm-up, performance, and clinic. We ask directors to please consider using our larger equipment to help ensure that transitions throughout the day move quickly. For bands using our equipment, we ask that you bring your own aux cords for amps, smaller auxiliary percussion instruments (claves, shakers, etc.), mallets and if you would like, your own cymbals for the drum set.
